We fell in love with the cottage when we first saw it in Spring 2017, despite the ivy growing through the windows and peeling wallpaper.
Underneath we could see the cottage’s original 1850s features just waiting to be rediscovered – a Delabole slate floor in the kitchen, beautiful sash windows and thick stone walls.
Since then, we have been renovating it – a job which proved much bigger than we at first thought! We have kept or reinstated original features and modernised sympathetically, keeping the cottage’s original character.
We have put in toasty underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, opened up the kitchen, front room and stairs to make an airy living space and installed a range cooker and even a wine chiller.
Now we are finishing the bathroom and garden room, then in a couple of months we will be ready and excited to welcome our first guests.
